Johnson, P. (2018). Fundamentals of collection development and management. American Library Association.

This general text is an excellent place to start if you are new to collection development.

Rose, M. & Inman, M. (Eds.). (2023). Building health sciences library collections: A handbook. Rowman & Littlefield.

A helpful starting point for newer collections librarians, especially those looking for lists of core books in medicine, nursing, and allied health.
